Grand Teton Frame Tree – Supplemental Assembly Video Transcript

Welcome, and thank you for your purchase of the Grand Teton Frame Tree.
This video is intended as a supplemental visual guide to the printed instructions.

All frame pieces arrive in a metal crate. Please begin by unwrapping and sorting all frame sections by their labeled level. Levels are designated B, C, D, and proceed alphabetically as the tree increases in size to E, F, G, and so on.

Lay the pieces on the floor to visualize the full level for the current section. Align the sections end to end. For this demonstration, we are joining D1 and D2. Simply place the sections next to each other so the ends are touching.

Secure these connections using the provided U-bolt assemblies. Insert the U-bolt, place the plate over it, and secure it with the wing nuts. This process must be repeated for every horizontal connection on the level. The frame shown has two sections requiring two connections. Larger frames will have more.

Ensure the U-bolt assemblies are placed high enough to clear the leg attachments. Next, attach the stabilizing legs to the vertical seams. The legs bolt on using the supplied hardware, with two bolts required per leg. An Allen wrench is included for tightening these connections. Hand tightening is sufficient at this stage.

Once all legs are attached, with two bolts per leg, the first frame level is complete and ready for the next step.

We will now add the second level. Place the first section of the new level directly over the corresponding piece of the previous level. For example, C1 is placed directly above D1. Once the piece is centered, it should be loosely attached using horizontal U-bolts.

It is important to keep these connections loose to allow for necessary adjustments when adding the remaining sections of this level. This frame size requires two U-bolts for the connection.

Proceed to the next section of the framework, keeping the U-bolts loose to allow for a small amount of play for alignment. The new piece should be snug against the one you just placed. Repeat the process, loosely securing the second piece with the U-bolts.

Once all sections for that layer are in place, you may tighten all U-bolts completely. With the horizontal bolts tightened, the frame is secure.

Now add the vertical U-bolts per connection to join the pieces vertically. After installation, tighten them. All frame sections are now vertically and horizontally secured. This particular frame has two sections; larger trees will have more.

We are now ready to install the final frame layer. The next layer is the topmost frame piece. Align this piece, B1, on top of the vertical frame section C1. Secure it with the U-bolts as done previously. Since this is a single piece, the U-bolts can be tightened down completely upon installation.

We are now ready to insert the tree pole sections. This will be the bottom part of the multi-piece tree. Insert the C-section of the tree into the top of the frame. It slides right down into place.

Once fully inserted, use the three locking bolts to secure the tree pole within the frame, ensuring the tree is held firmly in place.

The next step is to connect the electrical wiring around each frame level. You must create a connection at every break in the frame using the male end of the cable. For two frame pieces, there will be one connection. For three frame pieces, there will be two connections. For four pieces, three connections, and so on.

After the initial connection is tightened, repeat the process down the frame. Locate the male end and join it to the female end. Secure them together and tighten the cap to ensure a watertight connection.

The final assembly step is to attach the branches. Work methodically from the top level down. Each branch rod slides into the holder on the frame and has a small T-shaped end to ensure it is seated all the way down.

Locate the branch’s male power cord and connect it to the closest female receptacle on the frame. Push the two ends together to ensure the prongs are aligned, creating a watertight seal, and then screw on the cap.

Repeat this wiring and attachment process for all branches on the current level. This specific layer requires eight branches. Once complete, connect the main power cord that drops down from the frame to your extension cord or power supply.

With power established, you can now begin to fluff and shape the branches. Complete this process one level at a time, fully spreading the needles and tips for the current layer to achieve a full, natural appearance. Proceed to the next level down, continuing the fluffing process until all branches are shaped.

The tree assembly is now complete.
